Privacy Policy

Stop Unfair Tax Shifts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our informational website at www.stopunfairtaxshifts.com (the “Site”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. The Site includes a contribution (donation) feature; the information we collect in connection with contributions, and the limited information we collect from ordinary visits, are described below.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide voluntarily. When you make a contribution through the Site, we and our payment processor, Anedot collect the information you provide, which may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, employer, occupation, and payment-card information. Florida law requires us to collect this information for contributors and to report some of it publicly (see Section 3). If you also choose to email us at info@stopunfairtaxshifts.com we will receive the information you include in your message (such as your name and email address).

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site and our hosting provider, WordPress, automatically collect certain technical information when you visit, which may include your IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies.

Cookies and analytics. The Site uses cookies and analytics tools (including those provided by Google Analytics and Meta) to understand how visitors use the Site and to keep it functioning properly. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Site works.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to operate, maintain, and improve the Site; to understand visitor traffic and engagement in aggregate; to respond to messages you send us; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with: (a) service providers who help us operate the Site (such as our hosting, analytics, and payment-processing providers), under appropriate confidentiality obligations; and (b) authorities or others when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety. In addition, because we are a Florida political committee, we are required by law to report certain contributor information — which may include your name, address, and occupation — to the Florida Division of Elections and/or the county Supervisor of Elections. Those reports are public records, are published online, and cannot be made anonymous or withdrawn once filed.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site links to third-party platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Those platforms collect and process information under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

5. Data Retention

We retain automatically collected and emailed information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to opt out of certain processing. [Note: information we are required to disclose in public campaign-finance reports is governed by Florida election law and generally cannot be deleted or amended on request.] To make a request, contact us at info@stopunfairtaxshifts.com.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at info@stopunfairtaxshifts.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information collected through the Site. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Effective date” above will be updated.
